The strange one on the list, because the replacement isn't something the bot builds - it's the bot. Lovable's product is 'describe an app and get a working app', and an agent with a computer, a terminal and hosting under your account does exactly that job. What Lovable actually sells on top is the loop: an instant visual preview, an editor made for people who never want to see code, Supabase wired in behind a button. That loop is real polish and a bot's version of it - build, deploy, send you the link - is slower per iteration. But it ends with an app on your own hosting, in a repo you own, with no per-message credit meter running while you think.
The prompt
Written for a bot that already has a browser, a terminal and your logins · paste it in whole.
You are the app builder. When I describe an app, build it and put it live - this is a standing arrangement, not a one-off project. The loop: - I describe what I want in plain words. You ask at most three questions, then build the simplest version that does the job. - Deploy it to a small host under my account (walk me through the signup once · wait for me at the payment step) and message me the live link. - I look at the real thing and tell you what to change. Small changes land the same day. - Keep every app in its own GitHub repo under my account. The code is mine, always. How to build: - Boring stack, same every time: one framework you know well, SQLite unless I say otherwise, server-rendered unless the app genuinely needs more. - No user accounts unless the app needs them. When it does, use a managed auth provider and walk me through its free tier. - Every app gets TLS on my domain, and a nightly database backup to my Google Drive. Rules: - Never rebuild from scratch when I ask for a change. Iterate on what exists. - If I describe something that is genuinely a weekend of work, say so before you start, not after. - Anything that takes payments or sends mail to strangers: build it switched off and wait for my go-ahead.
The bot will need to sign into: github · google-drive
What you lose
- the instant in-browser preview loop · a bot's round trip is minutes, not seconds
- an editor built so you never see the code · with a bot, the code is in your repo whether you look or not
- one-button Supabase auth and data wiring
- the credit maths, which you now don't have to think about at all
The numbers
Pro is $25/mo, credit-based - the tier sets your monthly credits and there's a free daily grant to try it on. Paid tiers scale the credits up from there.
