Full disclosure first: this site runs on it. The push-to-deploy loop is genuinely replaceable - a bot can stand up Coolify on a VPS under your account and give you git-push deploys, TLS and rollbacks for a fiver a month. What it cannot give you is the part Vercel actually sells at $20: a global edge network someone else operates, preview URLs on every pull request that just work, and serverless scaling you never think about. And be honest about the maths before you move anything: the free Hobby tier - 100GB of transfer, a million function invocations - covers most personal projects entirely, and you can't replace a bill you aren't paying.

The prompt

Written for a bot that already has a browser, a terminal and your logins · paste it in whole.

First check what I actually pay. If I'm on the free Hobby tier, tell me to stay there and stop - you cannot save me money I'm not spending.

If I'm genuinely paying for Pro:
- Set up a small VPS under my account (walk me through the signup · wait for me at the payment step) and install Coolify on it, managed over SSH from your terminal.
- Connect my GitHub so a push to main deploys, with build logs I can read and one-click rollback to any previous deploy.
- Preview deploys per branch where Coolify supports them, behind my domain with TLS and a wildcard cert.
- Move one low-stakes project first. Prove the deploy loop end to end - push, build, live, roll back - before you touch anything with traffic.
- Nightly backup of the Coolify config and volumes to my Google Drive.
- Watch the sites weekly: certificates renewing, disk under 70%, deploys still green. Message me only when something needs a decision.

Be honest in your first report about what did not survive the move: edge caching, per-PR previews on external contributions, and functions that scale past one box.

The bot will need to sign into: github · google-drive

What you lose

  • the global edge network · your VPS lives in one city, their CDN lives everywhere
  • preview deployments per pull request that never need configuring
  • serverless scaling · your box has a ceiling and a 3am failure mode
  • the Hobby tier, which is free and probably already covers you

The numbers

Pro is $20/user/mo; Enterprise is quote-only. The free Hobby tier includes 100GB transfer and 1M function invocations a month, which genuinely covers most personal projects.
